The Senior National Account Manager - Amazon Mission:
Lead Pentland Brands’ Amazon business across Europe, owning customer strategy, commercial performance and cross-functional execution to deliver sustainable sales and profit growth.
The role is accountable for the Amazon Joint Business Plan (JBP), translating brand and company priorities into a clear customer plan that drives both sell-in and sell-out. A key near-term priority is shaping the next 3-year strategy (2027–29).
Working within a wholesale-led model, the role acts as the senior commercial owner of the Amazon relationship, line manages two NAMs, and partners across Brand, Planning, Marketing, Operations and Finance. Success in role requires strong commercial ownership, simplicity in execution, and collaborative leadership in line with Pentland principles.
How you'll drive success:
Strategy, JBP & Growth Leadership
Own Amazon strategy for Pentland in Europe.
Lead the 3-year JBP, annual account planning, governance and performance tracking.
Co-own the Top to Top process with Amazon’s Senior Vendor Manager, aligning senior stakeholders on strategy and progress.
Lead two NAMs across the OpEx and Expansion pillars, while providing cross-functional leadership to Digital Marketing on CXBX / Execution.
Drive continual assessment of white space opportunities, including range extension, new product creation and sourcing initiatives within the Expansion pillar.
Build the next phase of growth through the JBP framework 2027-29, including (but not limited to) assessment of programmes such as Amazon Exclusives, Joint License/Sponsorship, Teamwear via Print on Demand and Range/Brand Extension
Commercial Ownership & Brand Account Management
Own total Amazon revenue, margin and contribution, with accountability for customer performance across all brands.
Drive sell-in and sell-out through strong planning, forecasting, trade term management and decision-making.
Lead day-to-day account management for Speedo and Canterbury, including range setting, promotional planning, digital shelf monitoring, availability tracking and account plans.
Run weekly trade and brand meetings to align the matrix around priorities, actions and performance.
Lead weekly syncs with Amazon AVS to resolve open issues and maintain momentum.
Trading, Execution & Operational Delivery
Lead execution across assortment, availability, content, pricing, promotions, merchandising and retail media.
Partner with Digital Marketing to deliver the CXBX pillar and improve digital shelf performance, conversion and customer experience.
Ensure launches, peak events and seasonal moments are delivered to a high standard, supported by clear trading rhythms and action plans.
Partner with Supply, Demand Planning, Customer Operations and Finance to improve forecast accuracy, stock flow, service and profitability.
Continually assess Op-Ex programmes that drive mutual efficiency and profitability, enabling faster top- and bottom-line growth on Amazon, including initiatives such as Direct Import.
Resolve structural trading issues including availability, replenishment, returns and compliance.
Leadership, Stakeholder Management & Ways of Working
Lead the Amazon matrix across Commercial, Brand, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply, Finance and Operations.
Line manage and develop two NAMs, ensuring strong delivery across their areas of ownership.
Influence and support global Amazon teams to share best practice and align ways of working where beneficial.
Facilitate key business rhythms including internal MBRs, HY review days, monthly IBP submissions, external QBRs and regular trade meetings.
Own the senior day-to-day relationship with Amazon, representing Pentland in reviews, negotiations and key forums.
Act as the internal voice of the customer and external face of Pentland for Amazon.
What you'll need to thrive:
Strong commercial leadership experience managing Amazon or other strategic partners.
Proven track record of owning a customer P&L and delivering profitable growth.
Experience leading JBPs and turning strategy into execution.
Strong understanding of commercial levers, trading drivers and matrix ways of working.
Strong analytical, stakeholder management and people leadership capability.
Comfortable operating in a multi-brand, multi-market, wholesale-led business.
