Junior Product Concept Technologist

As a key member of the Rapid Prototyping team, you will be responsible for the pattern cutting and manufacturing of garment samples and product prototypes working with the Design, Development and Innovation teams across Pentland Brands. You will provide an invaluable service helping our creative teams originate and conceptualise ideas and designs into products to test fit, form and function, while continuing to build confidence and capability across the full product creation process
What you’ll be doing:
Create patterns and prototypes in a fast-paced atelier environment, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time.
Support product development by reviewing fit throughout multiple stages and helping solve construction, fit and functionality challenges.
Collaborate closely with Design, NPI and Product Development teams to deliver concepts against agreed timelines.
Maintain prototype, sample and pattern block libraries while ensuring products meet quality and performance standards.
Contribute to innovation projects by exploring new technologies such as digital pattern cutting, 3D printing and advanced construction methods.
Build technical expertise across the full concept-to-SMS process, supporting supplier relationships and increasing ownership of projects over time.
What you’ll bring:
Degree-qualified or equivalent industry experience in textile product design, development or a related field.
Proven experience in pattern cutting, garment fitting and construction methods for activewear or similar industries, including use of Lectra Modaris.
Skilled in fitting and developing garments for both menswear and womenswear, with experience using industrial sewing and bonding equipment.
Good understanding of the active and outdoor market, including technical fabrics such as Gore-Tex and bonded stretch materials.
High attention to detail with excellent technical knowledge of product construction, sample accuracy and awareness of current market innovations.
Effective organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate across teams and manage multiple priorities successfully.
