Packaging Compliance Manager
We’re Pentland Brands: a global family business behind some of the world’s most iconic active and lifestyle brands. We bring integrity, energy and ambition to our work, setting high standards and striving to deliver great outcomes without ego.
Shape the work behind some of the world’s most loved sport, outdoor and lifestyle brands.

At Pentland Brands, every role helps move our brands forward. Whether you’re supporting our people, improving our systems, growing our commercial performance, strengthening operations or shaping better ways of working, your impact reaches across a portfolio of iconic brands used by consumers around the world.
As our Packaging Compliance Manager, you’ll help shift packaging compliance from a reporting exercise to an integral part of how we design and develop products. Working closely with our brand, product and packaging teams, you’ll embed regulatory requirements earlier in the design process, helping us create better packaging, reduce compliance costs and meet our obligations across global markets.
You’ll take ownership of key areas including PPWR, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), plastic taxes and recycled-content requirements, combining strong technical knowledge with a practical and commercial approach.
What you’ll be doing:
Own the implementation and ongoing compliance requirements of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) across relevant markets.
Lead our packaging EPR strategy, ensuring accurate, complete and reliable data across markets and schemes.
Own compliance with plastic taxes and recycled-content requirements, including UK Plastic Packaging Tax, Spain and emerging international requirements.
Develop and maintain practical packaging design standards that reduce compliance costs and support more sustainable packaging decisions.
Partner closely with brand, product and packaging designers, embedding compliance requirements into decisions early in the design and development process.
Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, usable guidance for design, product and wider business teams.
Manage Lorax as our multi-country EPR reporting partner, overseeing data processing and submissions while retaining internal ownership of strategy and compliance.
Own relationships with relevant regulators and Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs), ensuring requirements and changes are understood and acted upon.
Monitor emerging packaging legislation and assess the potential commercial and operational impact on our brands and products.
Provide clear packaging compliance and readiness updates to support reporting into the Product Regulatory Compliance Committee.
What you’ll bring:
Strong experience in packaging compliance, EPR, packaging regulation or packaging sustainability, ideally within apparel, footwear or another consumer goods environment.
Detailed working knowledge of PPWR, UK and EU EPR requirements, plastic taxes and recycled-content regulations.
Experience translating regulatory requirements into practical standards, processes and guidance for product and/or packaging teams.
Confidence working directly with designers, product teams and other cross-functional stakeholders, influencing decisions early in the development process.
Experience managing third-party compliance, reporting or data partners while maintaining internal ownership and accountability.
Strong analytical capability and confidence working with complex packaging and compliance data.
A commercially minded approach, with the ability to identify how better packaging decisions can reduce cost, complexity and regulatory exposure.
The ability to navigate evolving regulation, interpret what it means for the business and turn it into clear action.
